Apple music has over 50 million songs in its catalog. That’s a lot. If you don’t have Apple Music yet, it may be time to get it. As impressive as Apple’s music service has been so far, it has gotten even better. In this article we wanted to share with you some of our favorite Apple Music features that you might not be using yet. If you love music – and who doesn’t – then you’ll love how Apple is making the listening experience even better.
Here are four Apple Music features you should be using.
- Find songs using lyrics
Apple Music now has a super cool feature that allows you to search for songs based on lyrics. Let’s face it, we all have trouble remembering songs sometimes, but we do know a few words. Or we might just not know the title or artist to one of our favorite songs and want to listen to it through Apple Music. Simply go to the search bar in Apple Music and Apple will give you the options to search with a few words from a song. You’ll be shown results for songs, artists, albums, playlists, and music videos. Look in songs and, as long as you know the right words, you’ll find it in no time.
- Create a playlist for your car ride with Shortcuts
Apple introduced the most convenient feature ever in its iOS 12 update: Siri Shortcuts. You can now create shortcuts on your phone to save you time. One cool way to use this with Apple Music is to create a playlist for your car ride to work or school. You can set up the shortcut to start playing when you leave your house everyday. When you get in the car, Siri will offer a suggestion to start playing your car ride playlist. You can set this up for any activity if you want, not just car rides.
- Listen to top 100 Charts from different countries with Apple Music
Another cool feature from Apple that helps us connect better with the world around us is their top 100 charts update. This feature allows you to the top 100 songs from 115 countries around the world. These playlists are updated daily and users can simply add these playlists, all 115 if they want, and download the songs straight to their device. Now you can listen to what’s trending and popular in other countries and see how it varies from yours.
- Friends Mix
Apple previously created some personalized playlist options in Apple Music. You could add music to a Favorites Mix and a Chill Mix, and now you can add music to a Friends Mix. This is such a cool idea from Apple. Friends Mix will pull in songs that your friends are listening to on their Apple Music account and create a playlist for you based on those songs. Each week it will create a new Friends Mix, helping you enjoy what your friends are listening to and connect with them better over music.
