New iPhone hacks are being discovered all the time. Even though these phones are incredible machines with tons of features to make our lives easier, they still offer some hidden gems to make it even better. Today, we wanted to share with you some our favorite iPhone hacks that you probably didn’t know about.
Let’s dive right in!
- Charge your phone faster
Any time you can save charging your iPhone is a plus – it can feel like it takes forever sometimes. A simple way to speed up the charging process is by turning your phone on to “Airplane mode”. This will turn off your Wi-Fi searching, and data connections while it’s enabled. Although it might not be much, this little trick will help take the stress off your phone battery helping your phone charge faster.
- Type websites faster
Again. While this tip won’t save you hours on your phone, it will shave off a few seconds with your searches. When you are typing out a website address or email address, just hold down the period “.” button and options for different extensions will appear: .com, .org, etc. Just slide your finger to the one you want and it fills it in for you.
- Create a custom vibration
Wouldn’t it bee cool to have a different vibration for each contact I your phone. Well, with this hack, you can. In Contacts, select a contact and hit Edit. Scroll down to find the Ringtone option. Click ringtone and you’ll see a Vibration option. Select this and you can choose a vibration or use the Create New Vibration tool. With this tool you can create a custom vibration for that contact. Now, you’ll know who’s calling you while your phone is in your pocket.
- Correct a Pronunciation.
Siri, although an incredible assistant, is not perfect. Sometimes she pronounces things a little differently than we do. If Siri pronounces something wrong, like a name, just tell it by saying “That’s not how you pronounce…” Siri will ask for the correct pronunciation and say it right from here on out.
- Close multiple apps at once.
Everyone knows how to close an app, but did you know you can close more than one at a time? Most people will swipe up each open app at a time to close each one, but you could actually close up to three at a time. Simply use up to three fingers and drag up three programs on the close apps screen and they’ll all close at once.
- Take a photo with your head headphones
When taking photos, it’s obvious to snap a picture by pressing the button on the camera screen. And most people know about using the volume button on the side of the phone – and even Siri will take a photo for you. But did you know, there is an other way to take photos? All you need is a pair of connect headphones. With the camera open, click the volume button on your connected headphones to snap a picture.
- Save data by limiting certain apps
If you’re not careful, you can use up all of your allotted data without even realizing it. An easy way to save on data usage is by limiting certain apps to only connect when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi. Just go to Settings > Mobile Data and choose which apps you’d like to put on your Wi-Fi only list.
- Set music on a timer
You love listening to music on your phone – who doesn’t? Have you ever fallen asleep while your phone continued to play music until it woke you up hours later? Or accidentally left music playing while you were doing something else? Well, there is a way to fix that problem. You can set your music on a timer to stop automatically. In the Clock app, slide along the bottom options to the Timer. On that page, click on ‘When Time Ends’. Scroll to the bottom to find the ‘Stop Playing’ option. Now when your timer goes off – in say 3 hours – your music will stop.
